Transport Systems Catapult 'to accelerate innovation' as Campion takes the wheel

 

ransport Systems Catapult (TSC) board member Paul Campion will take over as CEO of the innovation centre from July. The appointment follows the departure of Steve Yianni in January, since when chief operating officer Mark Ruddy has stood in as interim CEO.

 

 

 

Mr Campion has been a non-executive director on the TSC Board since February 2015. He currently runs IBM’s financing arm in the UK and Ireland, which helps the firm’s clients and partners optimise the financial cases for their IT transformations.

As the executive in charge of IBM’s travel and transportation business in the UK and Ireland, he was a member of the group that helped the Technology Strategy Board (now Innovate UK) build the business case for the TSC.

Terry Hill CBE, chair of the TSC, said: ‘I am delighted that Paul will be joining us as chief executive.

‘During his time at IBM, Paul has demonstrated success in business growth, creating and leading both large and small teams in several different functions, and in a variety of business areas. He is renowned for his strategic vision, knowledge of the transport sector and grasp of detail.
